Ciclisti indisciplinati

A Bologna le istituzioni parlano molto di mobilità sostenibile, ma poi costruiscono nuove autostrade o linee ferroviarie ridondanti. Fanno campagne stampa in cui demonizzano ciclisti e pedoni, gli utenti deboli della strada, mentre un automobilista fa ricorso per una multa e il giudice di pace dichiara l'autovelox illegale! Voglio contribuire anch'io con delle testimonianze visive raccolte andando in bici, sperando di immortalare un giorno quel tizio che ha provato deliberatamente ad uccidermi mentre tornavo a casa, stringendomi a destra con la sua macchina nera.

Traffico in via Saragozza? Che problema c'è, supero con la doppia striscia invadendo la preferenziale!

Ci sono le telecamere? Che problema c'è, giro senza targa!

The lunch break

The department of Industrial Chemistry is located in an historical mansion, donated to science by a wise aristocrat almost a hundred years ago. The villa has a nice front garden equipped with tables and benches, which we happily use at lunch time. We love to talk about food and foodies, making fun of each others' choices!

La pausa pranzo

Fino a Novembre inoltrato facciamo la pausa pranzo nel giardino di Chimica Industriale, che è attrezzato con tavoli e panchine. Uno degli argomenti di conversazione più popolari riguarda le religioni culinarie, che sono un'inesauribile fonte di scherzi e prese in giro!

Corso di sicurezza

Al rientro dal viaggio in Giappone ho fatto un bel corso per la sicurezza sul lavoro. Mi sembra giusto condividere gli appunti per chi non è riuscito a venire ;)

Jamming in Cadriano

Last Friday I was in Cadriano, an industrial area in the outskirts of Bologna. One of the former factories has been adapted to rehearse and Fabiola was there to sing with her friends. I took the occasion to draw the whole band jamming happily: even if it was the first time they met, they played well.

Venerdì sera sono andato a sentire Fabiola che cantava con i suoi amici. Ne ho approfittato per ritrarre i componenti del gruppo che suonavano insieme. Anche se era la prima volta, hanno fatto una bella serata :)

Working holiday

This year I went to Sardinia to spend my summer holiday. I brought the watercolours with me, since it's 20 years I bought them without really using them at all. This is a collections of the drawings I made there. They are not really good, but I suppose I have to begin somehow.

Vacanza studio

Sono stato in vacanza in Sardegna ed ho portato con me gli acquarelli che avevo comprato con entusiasmo alla fine del liceo. Non li ho quasi mai usati da allora! Armato di buona volontà, ho cercato di disegnare qualcosa ogni giorno. Il risultato non è del tutto soddisfacente, ma da qualche parte bisogna pure cominciare.

Reunion

Last week I met my university mates in Brighton. I finished my PhD in 2009, so it was really long time since the last house party. We basically rented a house for few days and enjoyed ourselves. Simple and yet really nice. I made few drawings, mainly to practice with the watercolours. I am not entirely satisfied with the result, however I am sharing it because it's a happy memory :)

Is the blog dead?

Quite the contrary! The only problem is that I am actually busy doing a lot of work, both scientific and artistic. Meanwhile, last week I had very good time at the Nippop, a cultural event organised in Bologna. It is a kind of congress on contemporary Japanese culture, with a lot of important guests. There were amazing musicians who played live, and talented artists which gave interesting talks. I owe so much to Japanese culture!
It was inspiring to see so many artists all at once. I wanted to put my impressions on paper, and here we are. See you soon!

That's a kind of half-Japanese Alice, which I used to play with watercolours. I must credit also the French comic writer Boulet, which published an interesting video on the subject.

The biggest challenge for a cosplayer is to get the haircut right. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

Il blog è morto?

Affatto, il blog è vivo. Forse un po' meno del suo tenutario, che invece è distratto da millemile altre cose. Ad esempio, lo scorso fine settimana ho partecipato al Nippop 2015, che si conferma essere un appuntamento davvero unico per immergersi completamente nella cultura giapponese contemporanea, restando comodamente a Bologna. Ho voluto mettere su carta le mie impressioni, ed eccomi qui. A presto!

 Dopo aver visto un video del grande Boulet mi è venuta voglia di provare ad usare gli acquarelli!

Secondo me il problema maggiore nelle gare di cosplay è rappresentato dai capelli. Sono davvero difficili da riprodurre! :D
